Starting a blog is something I’ve always wanted to do. However, I never knew where to begin or what to write about exactly. I didn’t want the blog to be about anything and everything. The are some things that made me hesitant to start a blog; things such as boredom, running out of topics, losing passion, etc. Not to say those things won’t happen with this blog but right now I love every minute of this despite the fact that it’s making me broke (Yeah it cost money to do this thing).
The journey of this blog started last year (2016); I can’t recall when exactly but I travelled a lot around South Africa. Taking pictures and posting about the places I explored just didn’t seem enough. I wanted to share the details and encourage others to travel too but needed the right platform to do that. So I spent months researching “how to start a blog,” and it was the most emotionally consuming thing in my life at that moment and I wasn’t doing it right because during this process I also became victim to exploitation; someone quoted me R7000 to do the blog, wtf!
After weeks (if not months) of searching and stressing, I came across this video, and it saved me from a lot of stress. In the end, it only took a week to design my blog and have it ready to be launched (I didn’t have content then though so it had to wait). It cost a bit of money and time to put it together, but I am proud to have been able to do it all on my own. If you’re thinking about starting a blog and don’t know where to begin, you can start by watching the video linked above; it’ll help you. Also feel free to contact me, and I will assist you free of charge. I am no expert, but through trial and error, I have the know-how of starting a blog.
Thank you for visiting my blog, I look forward to sharing my experiences with you.
